Restaurant Roundup: Our Top 10 Favorite Summit County Restaurants

Summit County Restaurant Roundup:

Our 10 favorite restaurants (besides us) in Summit County

Summit County, CO is home to a lot of restaurants and unlike a lot of the country, we don’t have too many chain restaurants. Throughout COVID and all the time, we at the Arapahoe Cafe, believe in supporting local restaurants and businesses like ourselves. So, we wanted to take this opportunity to share some of our favorite restaurants— most of them owned by Summit County locals with a few others in the mix. We wanted to show the whole gambit from bakeries, to fancy dinners to dives.

  1. Ski Tip Lodge

Treat yourself to the Ski Tip Lodge in Keystone. Not only is this a fabulous dining experience, but it can also be a great place to stay. They offer an amazing four-course menu that changes seasonally and have a sommelier for your wine needs as well. We recommend going for cocktails by the fire on a cold winter afternoon!

  2. Piantes Pizza

Healthy pizza that tastes great? Yes, it does exist. Piante means plant in Italian and they specialize in plant-based, wood fire New York City-inspired specialty pizzas. Plus this winter they have the beautiful heated, Bluetooth, dog-friendly globes you can sit in!

  3. Blue Moon Cafe

Blue Moon is a Silverthorne breakfast and lunch staple that specializes in baked goods. They make all of their pastries, cookies, bagels, and bread in-house! We recommend getting a Blue Moon Special (egg, cheese, choice of meat on an English Muffin) before heading out skiing any day of the week.

  4. Pho Bay

In Summit County, we have a lot of great American and Mexican cuisine but struggle to find good Asian food. Pho Bay is a great Asian food option with delicious pho and other Vietnamese specialties. Their tagline is “an unphogettable experience” so you know it gotta be good.

  5. Hacienda Real

For true Mexican, look no further than Hacienda Real in Frisco. They have the best salsa and we love just about everything on their menu including the fajitas, carne asada, and mole.

  6. Rootstalk

Rootstalk is the newest restaurant on this list! It was opened this year by long-time local Matt Vawter and is absolutely incredible! He focuses on new American-style food, makes homemade just about everything (the pasta is to die for), and serves seasonal menus. Definitely check this one out!

  7. Blue River Bistro

Alright, first of all, go to Blue River Bistro for BOGO martinis at Happy Hour. The Scooter’s Dark Side with infused strawberry vodka, muddled basil leaves, aged balsamic, lemon, and simple syrup is a must! Then stay for the charred Brussel sprouts and try the rest of the menu.

  8. Ein Prosit

More of a beer hall, but Ein Prosit has delicious German fare (and German beers!). They specialize in traditional and exotic sausages which makes them a perfect place to stop if you’re having a craving for German food. Prosit means “cheers” in German so make sure to go by and say Cheers to them!

  9. Kemosabe Sushi

The owners of Kemosabe also own Silverheels Grill, right next door, so they are a restaurant powerhouse on Main Street Frisco. Kemosabe Sushi is one of our favorite sushi spots in Summit County. The fish is fresh, the sake is delicious, and the service is good. Check them out for happy hour— it’s a good deal!

  10. Mercado La Perla

Shh, this is one of the best-hidden gems for authentic tacos in Summit County. They don’t even have a website so check them out on Google to find the best tacos el pastor in the world, okay maybe not the world, but definitely in Silverthorne.
